Neuro Integration Therapy™
A Proven, Drug-Free Program for Children & Adults
A 30-day sensory retraining program combining auditory, visual, and vestibular stimulation to help your child focus, connect, and thrive without medication.
- What Is It?
A Multi-Sensory Approach to Healing the Nervous System
Neuro Integration Therapy™ (NIT) is a clinician-developed, drug-free therapeutic program that targets the root cause of many learning, behavioral, and emotional challenges the nervous system’s ability to process sensory information.
Rather than managing surface symptoms, NIT stimulates three core sensory systems simultaneously: auditory (hearing), visual (sight), and vestibular (balance and movement). When these systems are activated together in a carefully structured sequence, the brain begins forming stronger, more efficient neural pathways.
The result? Children who once struggled to sit still, focus, or manage their emotions begin responding to the world with greater ease, confidence, and calm.

Neuro Integration Therapy™ is not a one-size-fits-all fix. Every program begins with a comprehensive evaluation to identify each person’s specific sensory processing gaps before treatment begins.
- Is This the Right Fit?
Signs Your Child May Have a Sensory Processing Challenge
Many children with sensory processing difficulties are bright, creative, and loving but the world feels overwhelming to their nervous systems. If you recognize any of the following patterns, Neuro Integration Therapy™ may offer the foundational support your child needs.
Difficulty focusing or staying on task easily distracted by sounds, movement, or thoughts.
Impulsive behavior acting without thinking, poor self-control, or frequent emotional outbursts.
Difficulty forming or maintaining friendships social situations feel confusing or overwhelming.
Over- or under-sensitivity to touch, sound, light, or movement meltdowns over textures, noise changes.
Struggles with reading, writing, or academic performance despite obvious intelligence.
Activity level that is unusually high or unusually low trouble winding down or an inability to engage.
Frequent meltdowns, tantrums, or emotional dysregulation that disrupt home and school life.
Difficulty transitioning between activities rigid routines and resistance to change.
- Inside the Program
Three Sensory Systems. One Integrated Approach
The Neuro Integration Therapy™ program is built around simultaneous stimulation of three interconnected sensory systems. Unlike single-modality therapies, NIT works on all three at once because that is how the brain actually processes real-world input.
Visual Re-Training
Your child is gently exposed to a sequence of colored light pulses slow magenta, ruby, red, yellow, green, blue-green, and violet delivered through a custom-designed computerized light instrument. This process works to restore the visual system's ability to receive and interpret information clearly and calmly.
Vestibular Re-Training
Using a custom motion table, your child experiences gentle, rhythmic movement in a reclined position. This stimulates the vestibular system the brain's balance and spatial awareness center and helps build body awareness, coordination, and the ability to self-regulate.
Auditory Re-Training
A personalized, modulated music program is built from each client's unique listening profile gathered during their initial assessment. Delivered through high-quality headphones, the auditory component helps retrain how the brain receives, filters, and responds to sound directly improving attention and emotional processing.
All three systems work together simultaneously during each session. This simultaneous stimulation is what sets Neuro Integration Therapy™ apart from conventional single-sense approaches, and why so many families see lasting improvements where other therapies have not delivered.
- Outcomes & Results
What Families Experience After Completing the NIT Program
Families who complete the full 30-day Neuro Integration Therapy™ program consistently report meaningful, lasting changes not just short-term symptom relief.
Improved Focus & Sustained Attention
Children can stay on task longer, follow multi-step directions, and engage meaningfully in classroom activities without constant redirection.
Stronger Peer Relationships
With improved sensory processing, social interactions become less overwhelming. Children feel more confident, connected, and included with peers.
Faster Sensory Processing Speed
The brain's ability to receive, sort, and respond to sensory information becomes more efficient reducing the mental fatigue that leads to shutdowns and overloads.
Better Sleep Quality
Improved vestibular regulation often leads to noticeable improvements in sleep patterns a benefit that positively impacts the entire family.
Calmer Emotional Responses
Meltdowns and emotional outbursts become less frequent and less intense as the nervous system develops a stronger capacity for self-regulation.
Reduced Anxiety & Sensory Defensiveness
Children who were previously overwhelmed by sounds, lights, or touch begin to move through their day with greater ease and adaptability.
- Who Is It For?
Neuro Integration Therapy™ Is Designed For Both Children and Adults
While the program is most commonly sought for children and teens, adults living with chronic stress, cognitive fatigue, TBI, or sensory processing challenges experience equally meaningful results.
- Children & Teens Benefit When…
- Teachers recommend extra support or intervention
- Traditional medications or therapies have not worked
- Meltdowns are controlling the entire family's routine
- Your child struggles to connect meaningfully with peers
- School performance is not reflecting their true ability
- Sensory sensitivities are limiting daily participation
- You want a drug-free alternative to medication
- Adults Benefit When…
- Chronic stress and overwhelm are impacting work and relationships
- Brain fog, memory issues, or focus problems are getting worse
- Recovering from a concussion or traumatic brain injury (TBI)

Real Families. Real Results.
You’re not the first family to walk in feeling hopeless. And you won’t be the last to walk out feeling seen.
We spent years trying different programs, but this was the first place where our son truly felt understood. The changes in his confidence, focus, and communication have been incredible for our whole family.

- Questions parents ask us
Honest answers to the things you're actually wondering.
Unlike talk therapy or behavioral therapy that addresses symptoms, Neuro Integration Therapy™ works at a neurological level — simultaneously stimulating the auditory, visual, and vestibular sensory systems to help the brain form more efficient processing pathways. It is a structured, drug-free program with a defined 30-session protocol rather than open-ended weekly sessions.
No. A formal diagnosis is not required to begin Neuro Integration Therapy™. The program is open to children who have been diagnosed with ADHD, autism, sensory processing disorder, or anxiety, as well as children who simply need additional developmental support without a clinical label.
The full program spans 30 days. The first 12 days are completed at the Sensory Stepping Stones clinic in Hopewell Junction, NY. Children attend two 30-minute sessions per day, spaced at least two hours apart. After the clinic phase, families receive a portable light instrument to complete 18 additional home sessions, bringing the total to 30.
Sensory Stepping Stones is considered an out-of-network provider. Payment is made by the family first, and a completed 1500 reimbursement form with treatment and diagnosis codes is provided for you to submit to your insurance company directly. Many families receive partial reimbursement through their out-of-network benefits.
The program is most effective for individuals dealing with sensory processing disorder (SPD), ADHD and attention difficulties, autism spectrum disorder, anxiety, visual or auditory processing challenges, traumatic brain injury (TBI), concussion recovery, sleep disturbances, emotional dysregulation, and general developmental delays. Adults with stress-related cognitive issues also respond well to the program.
Many families begin to notice changes during the 12-day clinic phase — including improvements in sleep, reduced sensory reactivity, and calmer behavior. More significant changes in focus, social connection, and emotional regulation typically emerge over the full 30 days and continue to develop in the weeks following program completion. Individual results depend on the person's starting point and the specific areas being addressed.
Yes, and it is often recommended. NIT is frequently paired with Interactive Metronome, Cognitive and Memory Training, Neuro/Bio Educational Feedback, or Individual Psychotherapy for a more comprehensive, layered approach. Our team will recommend the right combination based on your child's evaluation results.
