Art Classes for Children & Teens
Art as a Conduit for Healing

Small-group therapeutic art classes that use creativity to build self-esteem, emotional communication, and genuine peer connection for children and teens ages 10 to 14.

More Than Art A Space to Grow, Connect, and Be Seen

Within each art class at Sensory Stepping Stones, we explore individual artistic skills to build creativity, communication, and self-esteem. Art is a unique and powerful way for children and teens to express feelings and emotions that are difficult to put into words giving them a new language for their inner world.

All sessions are small in size so every participant gets individual attention. Classes are built around age-appropriate skills and projects, and all art supplies for every session are included in the fee. No prior art experience is needed only a willingness to create.

No art experience required. These classes are designed for children who love to draw as much as for those who have never picked up a sketchbook. What matters is the creative process and the safe space, not the finished product.

Real Families. Real Results.

You’re not the first family to walk in feeling hopeless. And you won’t be the last to walk out feeling seen.

Honest answers to the things you're actually wondering.

No. These classes are designed for children who love to draw as much as for those who have never sketched before. The focus is on the creative process, self-expression, and the supportive group environment — not artistic skill or finished-product quality. Every child is welcomed exactly where they are.
No. Art classes are enrichment programs, not clinical therapy. Any child ages 10 to 14 who would benefit from a creative, supportive group experience is welcome. You do not need to be receiving therapy at Sensory Stepping Stones or anywhere else to register.
All art supplies needed for every project throughout the 6-week session are included in the fee. Families do not need to purchase or bring any materials. Simply register and show up ready to create.
All sessions are intentionally small so that every participant receives individual attention and the group dynamic stays supportive and manageable. Specific group size limits apply — contact us at (914) 244-4101 for current availability.
Yes, and it is often a natural fit. Many children who are working through a clinical program at Sensory Stepping Stones also join art classes as a complementary enrichment experience. The two levels of support work well together, and our team can help you identify the best combination for your child.
